PENSIONERS COULD LOSE HUNDREDS OF POUNDS UNLESS THEY ACT NOW - WARNS AGE CONCERN DORCHESTER.
Many pensioners in Dorset are already losing out on an average £1,352 a
year by not claiming the Government’s flagship benefit for older people
- Pension Credit. But if they don’t claim before October 6th they could
also miss out on hundreds of pounds of backdated cash warns Age Concern
Dorchester today.

Falls Prevention fund for older people

The Falls Prevention Fund is a joint venture between Help the Aged, Dorset County Council, Dorset Primary Care Trust and POPP’s. Age Concern Dorchester is responsible for administering the fund. The aim is to provide grants of up to £1,000 for groups and organisations that aim to reduce the incidence of falls among the older population in Dorset.

Villagers Celebrate their IT success
|

Age Concern Dorchester is pleased to report that residents of Owermoigne are now well on their way up the information technology ladder thanks to one-to-one computer lessons in the village hall. A dozen villagers received certificates for their IT achievements from one of Age Concern Dorchester’s Trustees, Peter Wood at a Grand Presentation in the village hall.
